So this weekend after I got back from some fairly extensive drinking with some old mates from Belfast, I sat down with my guitar and I started writing this song. There was this chord progression that had been stuck in my head all fucking day, and so when I got home, I spent a few hours really hammering out the music and the lyrics, and it just seemed to be just like, fucking perfect, you know? Like it was all coming together. It was there. And when I went to sleep that night, I was pretty sure I had just written the anthem of our generation. I felt very confident saying that it was that good.
The morning met this theory with mixed results. It uh, well, I was sort of right. It was definitely the anthem of a generation. Specifically, it was the eponymous anthem from The Who's debut album, My Generation.
Here's hoping i accomplish the brief history of music quickly so I can start writing things that don't retroactively contribute to the British Invasion.

I'm so glad we've decided to spend ministry time and resources to investigate several obnoxious (if largely innocuous) posters that disagree with my personal opinions and preferred design aesthetic.
It's like I've always said: free speech is for terrorists. Revolutions are bad for the fatherland. As are the Jews, gypsies, the Irish, the Japanese... really all non-British and non-wizards. We should set up a camp for them. We could call it Nurmenschwitz! And then no one would ever disagree with us again, or challenge the authority of the master race with their evil, evil opinions.
